Our clinic has been treating patients since 1988. Our focus has always been to actively take care of patients’conditions so they can get back to work safely and productively. We work proactively with patients, employers, and insurance companies to ensure patient success.

Our Doctors
Sunita Jayakar, M.D., QME
Sunita Jayakar, M.D. is the medical director of the Jayakar Medical Group, which she founded in 1988 to evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal, industrial, occupational and sports injuries. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University Medical Center after graduating from the Grant Medical College from the University of Bombay, the leading medical school in India.
She has extensive experience in treating acute and chronic neck and back pain, orthopedic musculoskeletal and joint disorders, sports injuries, nerve injuries, repetitive strain injuries. She specializes in doing electrodiagnostic procedures (EMG/Nerve Conduction Studies) for conditions of peripheral nerve entrapment syndrome, neuropathies and radiculopathies. She performs industrial injury consultations, disability rating evaluations for employers, insurance companies and attorneys. She has served as IME, QME, and AME on numerous occasions. She is a certified Qualified Medical Evaluator for the State of California, doing permanent disability evaluations. Dr. Jayakar is a medical consultant to various high tech and biotech companies in the Silicon Valley, supervising nurse practitioners, occupational health nurses, performing site visits for ergonomic corrections, visiting fab areas for ergonomic appropriateness and developing appropriate treatment protocols for industrial injuries.
Rohit Jayakar, M.D.
Rohit Jayakar, M.D. specializes in comprehensive musculoskeletal care. He treats sports injuries, upper and lower extremity conditions, spine conditions, acute and chronic pain, and nerve injuries. He is specifically trained on EMG/NCS to evaluate for nerve damage, as well as musculoskeletal ultrasound to improve injection accuracy and ultimately patient outcomes.
Dr. Jayakar completed his undergraduate training at the University of Southern California and went on to complete his medical training at University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University. He has published several papers in the field of musculoskeletal medicine that have been presented around the nation. For a full list, click here.
Dr. Jayakar understands that each patient’s specific condition is unique and will work with patients to create tailored treatments in the least invasive manner possible. He will collaborate with you on an individualized treatment plan to get you back to the activities you enjoy.
Angela SooHoo, M.D.
Angela Soo Hoo M.D. has been with the Jayakar Medical Group since 2006. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley in 1989 and has a B.S. in Food and Nutrition Science. Dr. Soo Hoo graduated from the Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in 1994, and completed her residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Stanford University Medical Center in 1998. She had been board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 2001, and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Soo Hoo has over 20 years experience in treating musculoskeletal and nerve injuries, and chronic pain conditions. She is trained in doing EMG/Nerve conduction studies to evaluate for peripheral nerve entrapment and radiculopathies. Sunita Hirani, M.D, MPH
Sunita Hirani M.D, MPH has been with Jayakar Medical Group since 2012. She did her residency in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at University of California San Francisco. She also has a Master’s in Public Health from University of California Berkeley. Dr Hirani interned with Dr Jayakar in 2008-2009 and joined the practice in 2012. Her areas of interest include occupational musculoskeletal disorders of the spine and extremities. She is an expert at determination of work exposures causing injuries and is well versed in ergonomic assessments and evaluations. Dr Hirani is a member of The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) and Western Occupational and Environmental Medical Association (WOEMA).
